We are beginning in Burlington, Ontario.
But we are not beginning with one sport.
We want to identify, connect with, and support the organizations helping people participate in all sports throughout the city.

Hockey has an enormous presence in Burlington.
So does Soccer.
Baseball and Softball bring thousands of people to fields.
Basketball fills gyms.
Swimming brings athletes to pools.
Volleyball, Lacrosse, Ringette, Figure Skating, Gymnastics, Tennis, Pickleball, Football, Rugby, Cricket, Field Hockey, and many other sports contribute to the community.
Adaptive sports matter too.
Recreational and multi-sport programs create additional opportunities for children and adults to participate.

We Are Building a Burlington Sports Directory
One of our first projects will be identifying the sports organizations, Leagues, Clubs and Associations operating throughout Burlington.
The objective is not to rank them.
We want to help people find them.
Each qualifying sports organization can be presented in our Burlington Sports Directory with its:
Logo.
Organization name.
Sport.
Website.

That creates a simple starting point for families wanting to discover sports opportunities in their city.
Help Families Discover More Sports
A child playing Hockey today might become interested in Lacrosse tomorrow.
Soccer Players may want another summer or winter activity.
Parents could be searching for something completely different for another child.
Adults may want to return to a sport they played years ago or discover something new.
Better information creates more opportunities to participate.
Our goal is to make those opportunities easier to discover.
Local Sports Organizations Are Part of the Community
Sports organizations do much more than schedule games.
They bring families together.
Coaches volunteer their time.
Officials work games.
Facilities become gathering places.
Local businesses serve the families participating.
Tournaments and events bring additional visitors into the community.

This is where we need the sports community’s help.
If you operate, volunteer with, Coach for or participate in a Burlington sports organization, we want to know about it.
Large organizations belong.
Smaller Clubs matter.
Emerging sports should be included.
Adaptive programs deserve visibility.
Adult sports are part of the community too.
Our objective is not to decide which sports are important.
Burlington already decided that by participating in them.
